Whistle whistling from the chest...
A 4 years old girl child was attended by me with complaint of whistle sound while breathing. Parents told that she was having a lollipop in which they give a small whistle fixed on the lollipop stick. While playing with the whistle, somehow the whistle got into her mouth and she got choked. The whistle was stuck at subglottic area so I had to do bronchoscopy to remove the whistle. It was a difficult and tricky procedure to remove such big foreign body from small children. Fortunately it was a success and the whistle was removed. Now the child is stable and condition is improving.
Lesson for all parents:-
“There should not be any small objects in the hands or within the reach of the child which he/she can put in the mouth”. Sometimes you have no clue what happened and the child gets into some serious trouble.
